What is Williams Syndrome ?

Williams Syndrome (WS), also known as Williams–Beuren syndrome (WBS), is a disorder caused by a microdeletion in chromosome number 7. Most cases of Williams syndrome are not inherited but occur as random events. These cases occur in people with no history of the disorder in their family.
