What is Propionic Acidemia (PA) ?

Propionic Acidemia or Propionic aciduria is a rare metabolic disorder characterized by deficiency of propionyl CoA carboxylase, an enzyme involved in the breakdown (catabolism) of the chemical "building blocks" (amino acids) of certain proteins.
