I started taking Colcrys about Nov. 2010. For the first 2 months I thought it was a miracle drug---then it was all downhill from there. I discontinued taking it 1 week ago. Although it controlled pain to a degree, the side effects are bad. It is very dehydrating---I lost a lot of weight---just skin and bones; still feel very exhausted most of the time---can't stand long enough to cook a meal; the fever flares increased to several times a day, including at night; and in addition to the flares, I get terrible chills. If I am standing when a flare hits me in the chest and rushes to my head, I almost faint and suddenly feel stomach upset. I must sit down quickly and then lie down. I will fall asleep for 1 to 2 hours. I am now afraid to drive as it can become very dangerous. The last time I did grocery shopping, I was unable to drive home and the security fellow drove me home.
Also, it does not help the gout in my big toe. I wake up during the night and must walk around for a while.
I will tell my complete story later. For now, I must be able to get colchicine as soon as possible! Can you please instruct me on how to do it. I live in Ada, Oklahoma.
Thank you for your help.
